Ballet and Contemporary technique, artistry, and strength.

Through personalized coaching, I help dancers develop strong and refined ballet and/or contemporary technique while nurturing creativity and confidence.

My approach emphasizes strength, artistry, and expression while supporting growth both in the studio and beyond.

About me

I’ve had the privilege of having a career dancing and touring across Western Europe (Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Italy) and North America (New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver), performing on international stages and collaborating with a wide range of companies and choreographers. These experiences deepened my love for ballet and contemporary, revealing how profoundly dance can shape not only an artist, but a person.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, I have worked with dancers of all ages, from young children just beginning at age 2 to adults in their seventies, and across every level of training. This breadth of experience allows me to adapt lessons to each dancer’s needs while placing strong emphasis on artistry and expressive movement. I believe ballet and contemporary offer far more than refined technique. They are languages of self-expression, a practice of discipline and perseverance, and a pathway to confidence and creativity. Through the rigor of training paired with the freedom of artistry, dancers cultivate a powerful mind–body connection, resilience, and an inner strength that extends into their life beyond the studio.

I’m currently based in San Francisco, CA and teach around the Bay Area.

Class Offerings

Ballet or Contemporary Coaching (1-2 hours)

Private ballet or contemporary lessons are designed to meet you where you are and help you grow with strength, artistry, and confidence. I focus on building and refining movement technique in a way that supports the natural mechanics of your body. At the same time, we increase mobility and flexibility through approaches that honor your body’s alignment, rather than forcing it into textbook positions that may lead to injury.

This approach allows dancers to experience ballet and contemporary as both safe and sustainable, while cultivating expressive movement and artistic nuance. Lessons can also include coaching in classical variations, choreography, musicality, and performance artistry. I help students develop not only their technique but also their individual voice as performers and artists, encouraging creativity, interpretation, and a deep connection to the art of dance.

Stretch and Conditioning (1 hour)

Stretch and conditioning sessions are tailored to support you to be healthy, strong, and resilient in your dancing and movement. These private lessons focus on injury prevention, stabilizing hypermobile joints, and improving flexibility in safe and sustainable ways. I emphasize alignment, strength, balance, and the role of the fascia system in supporting the musculoskeletal body.

Conditioning work helps dancers move with greater ease and control, less pain, and a greater range of motion while building a foundation that supports both performance and longevity in dance. Influenced by practices that cultivate mindful awareness, grounded movement, and intelligent strength-building, my approach is holistic and supportive.

  • “I worked with Ms. Renee both in class and in private sessions. Ms. Renee has made a huge impact in the way I approach my ballet technique. She is incredibly patient, kind, and creatively finds ways to teach her students proper technique and artistry. She goes above and beyond to help her students and cares deeply about their success and well being. I’ve improved so much working with Ms. Renee and she taught me how to take care of my body and mind during class as well — an equally important part of being a dancer/artist.”

    Kailan B.

  • “Taking class from Miss Renee marked a pivotal point in my ballet training where I learned to approach technique and artistry as interconnected entities. Her unique teaching style merges vivid imagery with specialized anatomical and physiological knowledge, shaping a dancer that is expansive, expressive, and less prone to injury. As Miss Renee’s student, I was able to enter the collegiate dance world more confident in my ability to pick up nuanced choreography with technical precision and present myself strongly in auditions. From refining my foundational ballet training to offering me personal insight into the professional dance world, Miss Renee has been a key influence in preparing me to pursue a career in dance.”

    Emma M.

  • “Renee taught me the important fundamentals of ballet when I was young that I still use today. Her classes helped me build a strong foundation, and sessions always felt deeply intentional, infused with her own love and passion for the art, shaping the way I see ballet.”
